More 180 Club Members

Just a couple of weeks after the first 180 of the new season and we have another 2 to add to the list!

Last night Phil Dames from the Manvers Arms Radcliffe scored a 180 in Radcliffe's match against the Test Match.

I must also give a mention to Martin Rayner from the Test Match who actually hit a 180 on the 25th November, but this information wasn't passed on to me at the time - Blame Harry Martin!

At the latest meeting held on Monday night the draws for the 3 knockout cup and 2 plate competitions were made as follows:

Server Trouble

You may have had trouble getting on the website recently. This was due to a major problem with the FREE server the website is hosted on.

I am currently looking to upgrade us to a PAID hosting package which should cut out any trouble accessing the website in future.

First 180 of the season

Congratulations to Nick Allwood from the Manvers Arms Cotgrave who scored the first '180' of the new season last night in their match against the Manvers Arms Radcliffe.

Next Meeting Reminder

Just a quick reminder that the next secretaries meeting will be on Monday 7th December 2009 at 8pm at the Manvers Arms Cotgrave. As usual, all teams need to send a representative to this meeting.

Competition Entries

Just a quick reminder that the deadline for entries into this years Darts Singles, Darts Pairs and Dominoes Pairs competitions is Monday 23rd November.

Any teams wishing to enter into these competitions need to get their entries into Eileen Stevens at the address on the entry sheet before this date, so the draw can be made and presented at the next league meeting.

THE COTGRAVE WELFARE SOCIAL SCHEME DARTS OPEN

If anyone is interested I've been informed there is a Darts Open on Saturday 6th January 2010 at THE COTGRAVE WELFARE SOCIAL SCHEME, WOODVIEW, COTGRAVE.

There is a total prize fund of £1000, with money being payed out to the losing Quarter-Finalists onwards. Click here for further details

Good Luck to all teams for the new season.

Just a few quick reminders on a few points for the new season.
1) Can all home teams remember to text/email/or use the submit score page to let the Chairman know your results within 24 hours of a fixture being played and then send your completed score sheets to Phylis by Monday.
2) Remember the latest time for starting a match is now 8:45pm

Congratulations to the Lady Bay who have won the combined darts and dominoes Summer Cup.

Winter League 2009/2010

Just a reminder to everyone that the next meeting is on Monday 21st September at the Radcliffe Royal British Legion at 8:00pm.

Can everyone make sure they send a representative, as NEW season fixture sheets, NEW signing on forms and NEW score sheets will be given out at this meeting.

Chairman Runs The Robin Hood Half Marathon

This coming Sunday the 13th September I shall be taking part in the Robin Hood half marathon and hoping to raise a bit of money for the official charities (CLIC Sargent, The Fire Fighters Charity, Headway and the Alzheimer's Society)

2009 AGM

I've been meaning to post a summary of what happened at the AGM last Monday, but I've been really busy at work over the last few weeks, so I've only just got round to it.

Many thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend the meeting.

Here is a summary of all the key points from the meeting:

1) The Treasurer reported the league had made a profit of £277.62 in the last year, this was due to a number of key factors:

• All teams paying for 10 presentation tickets upfront at the beginning of the season
• A very profitable raffle (thanks to Brian for his efforts)
• Changing the type of trophies purchased for the presentation (savings were made, but we actually purchased more trophies!)
  
• Income from Summer League player registrations
  

2) Officers for the league were elected as follows:

• Chairman: Mark Johnson
• Vice Chairman: Brian Rigby
• Secretary: Keith Hickling
• Treasurer: John Wragg
• Results Secretary: Phyllis Pitman

3) Alterations to Rules
Everybody agreed to the Chairman's NEW re-written rules which incorporated the following additional points:

• adding to rule 5 on how to separate teams in the event of them being level on both legs and points (This cropped up this year in the Dominoes League)
• adding to point 9 about emailing or texting the chairman the results of fixtures by Thursday evening (currently being done in the Summer League), this will enable us to keep a slot in the BallsMania magazine and will also allow Mark to keep the league tables on the website up to date.

It was also agreed that we would change the latest time for starting a match from 9:00pm to 8:45pm (this will come into affect when the Winter League starts.

4) The next meeting was agreed to take place on 21st September 2009 at the Radcliffe Royal British Legion at 8:00pm

First 180 in the Summer Cup

The new Summer Cup began yesterday and already we have our first 180 of the competition.

Well done (for the 4th time this year) to Adam Crevald from the Ruddington Estate Club.

The new Summer Cup competition will start on Wednesday 15th July.

All fixture schedules will be sent out in the post next week

AGM

This years Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Monday 10th August at the Test Match, West Bridgford at 8pm.

All proposals or amendments to the league rules need to be in the hands of the secretary Keith Hickling at least 2 weeks before this meeting (Monday 27th July)
