Peter Broadhead

Sadly I have to report the sad news that Peter Broadhead from the Manvers Arms Radcliffe team has passed away whilst on holiday.

On behalf of the league I would like to send our condolences to Paula and the family at this sad time.

Friends of Peter are invited to come to a wake at the Manvers Arms Radcliffe on Wednesday 26th September at 7:00pm where a buffet will be laid on for everyone.

Roy Stevens: Air Ambulance Collection

I have been asked by Eileen Stevens to let you all know that the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance collection held in memory of Roy Stevens raised £667.13p

Winter Season 2012/13

After Monday night's AGM it was agreed that the NEW Winter League Season will start on Wednesday 19th September 2012.

The new seasons fixtures meeting will be held on Monday 17th September 2012 at the Ruddington Estate Social Club at 8:15pm.

I will be sending out registration forms to all teams tomorrow these must be back with me by Friday 14th September at the latest so I have the weekend to compile the fixtures for the meeting.

2012 AGM

Most of you will already know, but this years Annual General Meeting is on Monday 20th August 2012 at the Radcliffe Legion at 8pm.

If you wish to propose any rule changes/amendments, please can you make sure these are with me by Friday 10th August at the very latest, so I have time to distribute them to all teams.

If anyone wishes to stand for any positions within the league, please make sure you attend this meeting. Hopefully I'll see a few of you at the meeting.

Roy Stevens

Sadly I have to report the sad news that Roy Stevens from the Manvers Arms Radcliffe team passed away on Monday 16th July. Roy was a very popular member of the team and will be missed by everyone.

On behalf of the league I would like to send our condolences to Eileen and the family at this sad time.

Roy's funeral will take place at Wilford Hill Crematorium on Thursday 26th July 2012 at 12:00pm.

It is requested that instead of buying flowers, friends make a donation to the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance.

Darts Averages Competition

Last night saw the inaugural knockout competition involving the top 16 players in the darts averages.

I think everyone enjoyed the new format and their was some good darts on show with 3 180's scored in the last few games, 2 by Phil Dames and one by James Hewitt.

In a high quality final which saw both players have their chance to win, Phil Dames beat James Hewitt 3-2.

Lady Bay - Darts League Winners

Congratulations to the Lady Bay who beat closest rivals the Manvers Arms R-o-T 4-3 in a tense match last night which helped them seal the Darts League title for the 2nd time in the pubs history.

All Lady Bay Darts Pairs Final

In the fridge that was the Test Match last night, the Darts Pairs competition was played down from the last 8 to the 2 finalists.

At the end of an eventful evening we now know this years final will be an all Lady Bay affair as C. Handley & K. Stokes will play C. Ward & S. Biggs on the finals night on 11th April 2012.

This also means that we are guaranteed some new names on the trophy!

Also Congratulations to Adam Crevald from the Estates Club who hit a 180 on the night.

Manvers Cotgrave take first trophy of season

Congratulations to the Manvers Arms Cotgrave who won the first trophy of the season by beating the Manvers Arms R-o-T 2-0 in the Final of the Brian Widdowson dominoes bowl competition.

It was an impressive performance from the Cotgrave team who didn't drop a leg in the whole competition! Full Results here
